Questions

Questions we hear

Straight answers about estimates, deposits, permits, warranties and the language we work in.

Do you charge for an estimate?

Not for roofs in our service area. We visit, measure and write the estimate at no charge.

How soon can you come?

We answer by the next business morning and set a time to see the roof then.

Do you take a deposit?

Not to order custom-cut panels. Your estimate lists each payment and when it is due.

What does lámina mean?

Spanish for sheet metal. In ranch country it is the ribbed metal panel on a barn or shed.

Do you work in Spanish?

Sí. Octavio and Mateo speak Spanish and English, and every page of this site is in both.

Do I need a permit?

Inside Fredericksburg city limits the city may require one, and we can pull it. We tell you at the estimate whether yours needs one.

Can metal go over old shingles?

Sometimes, where the code and the condition of the roof allow. We check at the visit and tell you what we recommend and why.

Will a metal roof be loud in the rain?

Over a solid deck with underlayment, less than most people expect. An open-framed barn will be louder.

How long is the warranty?

There are two: the panel maker's on the steel and finish, and ours on the installation. The terms, limits and exclusions are in each written warranty, which you see before you sign.

Are you a public adjuster?

We do not call ourselves public adjusters and never act for you with your insurer. Your insurer decides what your policy covers.

Do you work in Austin or San Antonio?

No. We stay in Gillespie County and the towns around it.

What if water is coming in now?

Call (830) 555-0100 and say so. We will tell you what we can do and when.

Another question?

Call, text or write. We answer by the next business morning.
